In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May, we are highlighting Phoenix Instagram influencers who are members of these cultures.
These social media stars share their talents, heritage and passions as they post about their family lives, favorite local businesses, cultural events and news.
The heritage month honors “the history and achievements of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders,” according to the White House’s proclamation this year.
Advancing “inclusion, belonging and acceptance” — as President Joe Biden’s proclamation reads — for these communities that encompass a wide array of cultures is especially significant in light of rising rates of anti-Asian harassment and violence across the country, including several reported incidents in metro Phoenix, during the pandemic.
