BIRMINGHAM – Senior Christian Hall has been selected by the league’s head coaches to the Preseason All-Conference USA Team, announced by the league on Thursday.
Hall ended the 2022 regular season being selected to the All-Conference USA Second Team as the designated hitter and is the only designated hitter on the 2023 preseason list.
At the plate, Hall led the Blazers in batting average (.370), slugging percentage (.614) and on-base percentage (.443). Hall also ranked second on the roster in home runs (11), hits (70), RBIs (48) and total bases (116).
Following the conclusion of the 2022 season, Hall ranked fourth in the conference in batting average, eighth in OPS (1.057) and 10th in slugging and on-base percentages. Led by Hall, UAB finished fifth overall in team batting average (.279).

In the projected order of finish, Conference USA’s head coaches selected UAB to finish in sixth place, tied with Middle Tennessee. In 2022, UAB won 31 games in Casey Dunn‘s first season, which was a school record for most wins by a first-year head coach.
