Rogue One spinoff Andor casts Chernobyl‘s Robert Emms. The Mandalorian brought the Star Wars universe to Disney+ in 2019 and became a massive hit (thanks in large part to meme-worthy character Baby Yoda). Loads more Star Wars content is now coming to the streaming platform, including a series starring Diego Luna as his Rogue One character Cassian Andor. The prequel show also stars Stellan Skarsgard, Alan Tudyk, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly and Kyle Soller.
The Andor cast is indeed still being filled out, with Emms marking the latest addition, as reported by Deadline. No details have been revealed about his character, as Andor continues to be largely veiled in secrecy like everything else Disney has planned for Star Wars. There have been some Andor leaks recently however, teasing everything from new spaceships to familiar Stormtrooper designs.
Emms joins the in-production Andor after making a strong impression in HBO’s acclaimed limited series Chernobyl, playing the character of Leonid Toptunov, who received a massive dose of radiation during the famed nuclear disaster and later died a horrific death. Emms in fact becomes the second Chernobyl cast member to join Andor, following Skarsgard. Emms will also be familiar to sci-fi and fantasy fans from his starring role as Thomas in His Dark Materials.
