Eboni K. Williams took The Real Housewives of New York to school in a recent episode after the lawyer had to call out LuAnn de Lesseps micro-aggressions. A trip to the Hamptons included a much-needed life lesson on “white fragility” and “micro-aggressions” displayed by members of the cast. The scene comes after Eboni warned viewers about the tough scenes that were coming this season.
With RHONY casting its first Black housewife in a year that included nationwide protests against racial injustice, heated debates were expected this season. Eboni is an HBCU grad, licensed lawyer, and renowned news analyst. She made her inception on the show more than qualified to hold her own when engaged in a verbal spat with any of the ladies. Not only has she helped to add more diversity to the cast, but viewers have seen her educate the cast on aspects of the Black experience in America. During the ladies’ recent trip to the Hamptons, a number of comments forced Eboni to set some of her castmates straight when it comes to blurting out words at people of color.
