Sex/Life has become our new guilty pleasure on Netflix and we can’t seem to get enough of it.
The steamy show has been a hot topic of conversation ever since it dropped on the streaming service in late June, with viewers immersed into the erotic mind of Billie (played by Sarah Shahi), a stay-at-home mum who is bored to death of her middle-class suburban life in Connecticut with her husband, Cooper (Mike Vogel) and their two kids.
Based on BB Easton’s 2016 novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men, the series is full of explicit sex scenes and fantasies – all of which we recently found out were based on a true story – as
Billie begins to lust for her previous sexual adventures with ex-boyfriends, yearning for the passion-filled life she once.
One particular ex named Brad (played by Adam Demos) dominates Billie’s thoughts throughout the series, to the point where she actually leaves her family to rekindle their romance. The two film some seriously intimate sex scenes, none of which they used body doubles for according to the cast. In fact, Shahi told Extra TV that she was “scared almost every day” on set because she knew she had to film the scenes.
