Syracuse, N.Y. — Pounds of cocaine flooded Central New York in the past two years, peddled all over including inside suburban fast-food joints and a home improvement store’s bathroom, investigators said.
It was exchanged between dealers at Destiny USA and placed in a mailbox outside of a North Syracuse home.
The drugs were sold or held in at least 25 communities in CNY — including at residences and gas stations across the suburbs, according to indictments unsealed this week and obtained by Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard. The cocaine was funneled into the region by four separate drug rings, the state Attorney General’s Office announced Wednesday in Syracuse.
The two-year investigation into the drug pipelines led to 78 arrests across CNY, the AG’s office said. The bust netted $2 million worth of items, including 70 pounds of cocaine and nine untraceable ghost guns, the AG said.
The busts showed the drug rings piped cocaine to Upstate New York from as far away as Florida and Puerto Rico, the AG said.
