On a year-over-year basis, prices have been rising for 32 consecutive months. April prices are up from $167,000 the previous month.
The number of houses sold rose by 7.4% from a year earlier. A total of 1,604 houses were sold countywide during April. During the same period a year earlier, 1,493 single-family homes were sold.
Oakland County’s median sales price for a single-family home was $301,000, up 5.1% from a year earlier. Prices have been rising for 23 consecutive months on a year-over-year basis. Some 820 houses were sold in April, down 25.4% from a year earlier.

Wayne County condominiums and townhomes sold in April had a median sales price of $220,000. That figure represents a 7.8% increase year over year. Some 238 were sold, up 6.7% from a year earlier.
