United States Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed a special counsel to probe into the handling of classified documents that were detected at US President Joe Biden‘s former office and Delaware home. Senior Justice official described this as ‘textbook’ example, according to USA Today.
Legal analysts have claimed that Garland had to appoint a special counsel to investigate in the Biden case, else there would have controversy. Merrick Garland’s decision came months after the appointment of prosecutor Jack Smith to probe into recovery of classified documents from Donald Trump‘s Florida estate.
