Team USA arrived in Sweden last Monday and has already played a pair of pre-tournament games, defeating Sweden on Thursday, 5-3, and Canada on Saturday, 6-5 in overtime.
Now the games count as the U.S. looks to claim its sixth gold medal (2021, 2017, 2013, 2010 and 2004) at the World Junior Championship.
The 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship starts on Dec. 26 and runs through Jan. 5, 2024. All games will be played at Frölundaborg and Scandinavium arenas in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The preliminary-round runs Dec. 26-31 while the quarterfinals will take place on Jan. 2, semifinals on Jan. 4 and both the bronze and gold medal games will be played on Jan. 5.
