Team USA has pulled off a stunning victory in cricket in their game against Pakistan last week. Saurabh Netravalkar, the face of USA cricket, picked two wickets in the game, and bowled the super-over to cause a major upset over the Asian giants.
Only a week later, on June 12, Netravalkar lived his dream to play against his birth-nation, India. The US pacer faced the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in New York – his adopted home.
As if that feat wasn’t emotional enough, the Maharashtra-born cricketer, knocked off both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the USA vs India game on Wednesday. Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck, against an unplayable Saurabh Netravalkar. Truly, the stuff of dreams!
The United States team, a debutant at the T20 World Cup in 2024, is headlined by Saurabh Netravalkar. The left-armed medium-fast bowler has represented India in the past and currently is a bowler for Washington Freedom.
But that’s not his lone occupation. Netravalkar is also a principal software engineer for Oracle, one of the largest software companies in the world.
