The house featured in “Home Alone” has found a buyer, seven months after it was put on the market and just in time for Christmas.
The 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom house located in Winnetka, Illinois was put up for sale at $5.25 million late May, according to the Zillow listing. The home’s exterior was used as the McCallister’s family home in both the 1990 Christmas classic “Home Alone,” and the 1992 sequel “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”
The “Home Alone” house received national attention shortly after it was listed, leading listing agents from Coldwell Banker Realty to receive an offer less than a week after it was listed, according to People.
Even Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister in the films, thought about buying the house when it first hit the market.
“I had half a mind to buy it − just for giggles,” he told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month. “I got kids. I’m a busy man.”

“We’re thrilled with the way this home captured everyone’s attention and hearts due to its well-deserved place in cinematic history and the timeless holiday memories it evokes,” said listing agents Dawn McKenna and Katie Moor in a statement obtained by People.
Andrea Gillespie, Coldwell Banker Realty spokesperson, shared with USA TODAY that the sale of the “Home Alone” home is pending.
