The Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team has had a great start to the 2024-2025 season. They’re coming off another decisive win in nonconference play over Omaha, 111-65. It’s their fifth win in a row and came after a big top 25 win over Michigan in the Jumpman Invitational.
Oklahoma is 2-1 in top 25 games this season. Their lone loss came to Duke in Las Vegas.
Despite the loss, Oklahoma has moved into the top 10 of the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
The UCLA Bruins remain at No. 1, earning 30 out of a possible first-place votes. They’re followed by SEC powerhouses South Carolina and LSU at No. 2 and 3. Notre Dame comes in at No. 4 and USC is at No. 5.
The only other SEC team in the top 10 is the Texas Longhorns, who come in at No. 6, boasting a 12-1 record in 2024-2025.
The Oklahoma Sooners have one more game on the nonconference schedule when they take on New Mexico State on Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Lloyd Noble Center. The Sooners will then open conference play against the Texas Longhorns in Norman on January 2.
