Board meeting
Due to Tuesday’s consolidated election, the Glenview board of trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, rather than at its usual Tuesday time. Meetings during the pandemic are held remotely through the Zoom format.
A lengthy agenda includes a proclamation for Arbor Day on April 30, including participation in the Morton Arboretum’s Plant Trees for Communities campaign; consideration of a resolution approving a contract worth more than $1.7 million for improvements to Pleasant Lane; and a second consideration of an ordinance extending the Downtown District’s development moratorium.
To join the board meeting, visit the Village of Glenview website, www.glenview.il.us, and select the “Government” tab, then “Board of Trustees.” “Meeting Agendas & Watch Live” will provide a list of upcoming and past meetings and will provide instructions.
Incidentally, Glenview has been named a Tree City USA village for a 36th straight year. Glenview also was named a Sterling Tree City for achieving 12 years of growth awards. The National Arbor Day Foundation and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources provides these awards due to a variety of reasons, such as a town having a forestry team and a natural resources commission, and a well-funded community forestry program.
