DENVER (KDVR) — Among many things that have become more expensive in recent years, airfare out of the Denver International Airport has increased more than the national average.
The average cost of airfare at the 100 busiest airports in the nation increased by 29% between 2021 and 2023, according to a report from USA Today.
Meanwhile, DIA was in the top 25 for airports with the highest airfare increases, with prices increasing around 36%.
Most airfare increases happened in 2022. Data compiled by USA Today shows that prices not only leveled off overall in 2023 but also decreased by 1% nationwide.
