While it might not be the big-ticket signing some Toronto Blue Jays were hoping for, the team’s front office was quite active on Monday.
With January 15 the day when MLB teams put pen to paper on international free agents throughout Central and South America, the Blue Jays have reportedly made several signings to integrate into their minor league system.
With most of the players on the list being born in either 2006 or 2007, it’s still a way away until they’ll be anywhere close to an MLB roster.
Toronto’s biggest international free agent signing in recent team history came way back in 2015 when they landed Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as a 16-year-old out of the Dominican Republic.
As per Baseball America, here are the nine international free agents the Blue Jays have signed thus far:

- Junior Arias, OF, Dominican Republic
- Pascual Archila, OF, Venezuela
- Angel Guzman, SS, Dominican Republic
- Juarlin Soto, SS, Dominican Republic
- Esmeiquel Arreche, C, Venezuela
- Javado Bain, SS, Bahamas
- Endry Reyes, SS, Dominican Republic
- Yohandi Medina, RHP, Venezuela
Rojas is the player with the highest projected ceiling of any of these prospects, ranking 34th on Baseball America’s list of top 50 available international free agents, as ranked by their projected signing bonuses.
