The Season returns in Sweden; while Tottenham Hotspur begins their pre-season in The Women’s Cup in Louisville.
Kicking this off in Sweden after a two-month break, the Damallsvenskan continues in their autumn season. Clare Polkinghorne and Katrina Gorry‘s Vittsjö GIK will be aiming to continue their run to the top three up against Kristianstads DFF.
Kristianstads began their autumn season last weekend, defeating IFK Kalmar 2-0, however, they still remain three points behind first-placed FC Rosengård.
Gorry and Polkinghorne both played a full 90-minute game in Vittsjö’s final game before the break, going down 2-1 to KIF Örebro DFF.
This game will kick off on Saturday morning at 2 am AEST.
Over in Eskilstuna, Elise Kellond-Knight could be in line for her much-anticipated return to competitive football when Hammarby takes on Eskilstuna United.
Kellond-Knight made an appearance in Hammarby’s autumn pre-season game against Linköping, while Kyra Cooney-Cross and Courtney Nevin started in the game for Hammarby.
Both sides are still on the hunt to make the top three and qualify for next season’s UWCL. This game will kick off on Sunday night at 11 pm AEST.
Lastly in Sweden, Remy Siemsen‘s AIK are doing everything they can to remain in the OBOS Damallsvenskan, and avoid relegation, when they take on Piteå IF.
