The situation occurred around 11:45 PM, and residents in the area were informed of such a step. The site is near the 4th and Main streets, and it happened at a time when most residents were in their homes at that hour.

The police cordoned off the area and forbade residents to switch on electrical apparatuses like air-conditioners, fans, and heating systems. Residents were cautioned through megaphones to shut their doors and windows and remain indoors due to the poisonous gas emanation.
Fire engines, ambulances, and the police are stationed there in large numbers blocking the entrance to points to the area. The area is central to Sacramento and San Francisco by 55 miles and is one of the best places to live. Oakley is in a picturesque part of the county and is located in the prime California Delta.
The place is well known for its fine vineyards, peppered all over the area. The residents have plenty of outdoors and love fishing and boating in the California Delta.
