COLO SPRGS, CO (Jan 30, 2025) – USA Shooting rifle athletes kicked off the new year by earning a total of nine medals at the first two international competitions of 2025, The Meyton Cup and the H&N Cup. The impressive nine medals earned at the annual competitions exceeds last’s year’s total of six.
The team first won a total of seven medals at the Meyton Cup, in Innsbruck, Austria, Jan. 17-21. The team then competed in the H&N Cup in Munich, Germany, Jan. 21-26 where they picked up their final two medals of their European competition trip. Both annual competitions consist of solely 10m Air Rifle and Pistol events.
On the first day of the Meyton Cup all four of the junior athletes shot qualification scores that landed them spots in the Junior Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Team Air Rifle finals. Tyler Wee and Mackenzie Kring went on to win the first medal of the Meyton Cup with a silver in Junior Mixed Air Rifle Team. Makenzie Larson and Jack Ogoreuc joined them on the podium with a bronze medal in the event.
Wee added to his collection by securing a silver medal in Junior Men’s Air Rifle on day two. Larson racked up two more medals at the Meyton Cup with a gold in Junior Women’s Air Rifle and a silver in Open Women’s Air Rifle.
