World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has appointed Craig Stimmel as senior vice president and head of global sales and partnerships.
Stimmel becomes a key member of the company’s senior management team, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and expanding WWE’s roster of sponsors and promotional partnerships.
Stimmel will report to WWE chair and co-chief executive Stephanie McMahon and co-chief executive Nick Khan.
The new hire joins from social video platform Snapchat, where he served as global head of brands for the last three years.
The move to add new leadership in the sales team comes amid a period of change at WWE, after majority shareholder and former chief executive Vince McMahon stepped away from an active role in the company last month.
The move followed a report from The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) revealing that the board was investigating McMahon over US$12 million that he allegedly offered four former employees to silence accusations of sexual misconduct.
Elsewhere, Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm Comcast Spectator, owner of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Philadelphia Flyers, has promoted Blair Listino to executive vice president from her previous position as chief financial officer.
