As part of his $1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief package, the American Rescue Plan Act, President Joe Biden has proposed another expansion of unemployment benefits.
Biden plans to extend the current program from mid-March until the end of Sep. 2021. And instead of the current additional $300, qualifying Americans would receive $400 per week.
It’s important to note that Biden’s proposal isn’t law but Democrats in the House and Senate hope to pass the bill before the current expanded unemployment benefits expire in March.
