People 40 and older are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the news Thursday morning: “I’m pleased to announce that beginning this Monday, March 29, all Floridians age 40 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Beginning the following Monday, April 5, all Floridians age 18 and older will be eligible.”
Why Gov. DeSantis scaled back on age restrictions for COVID vaccine
This month alone, DeSantis has ramped up age eligibility for the vaccines at any of the more than 1,000 vaccination sites across the state:
• March 15, people ages 60 and older could get the shot(s).
• March 22, those 50 and older became eligible.
• On March 29, people 40 and up can register for a vaccine.
On April 5, the age requirement drops to 18 and older.
