The mother of Team USA gymnast Jordan Chiles was found to delay the start of imprisonment for wire fraud. This allows her to support her daughter throughout the Summer Olympics.
Gina Chillies was set to report to federal prison on July 27, the same day her 20-year-old daughter was scheduled to compete in the Tokyo Olympics, court records show.
Her lawyer filed a petition on July 13 for a 30-day extension to allow Gina to “help her daughter during and for some time after the Olympics.”
“This will give Mrs. Chile’s daughter at least some additional time to receive her mother’s emotional support and guidance during such a monumental period of her young life,” said the lawyer. Wrote.

According to people, prosecutors did not oppose the request given by a federal judge in Oregon on Wednesday.
Gina has previously admitted to embezzling more than $ 1 million from a client of her commercial real estate management business, Inspire Vision Property Management, in Portland.
She faced up to 20 years in prison, but signed a contract with a prosecutor and pleaded guilty to one of the wire fraud charges.
Gina was sentenced to 366 days in November and has not yet appeared in court until August 26, the day of her self-surrender. When she comes out, she has to repay what she stole.
