Hours after their explosive tell-all interview aired on CBS, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry appeared in a new photograph, in which the former “Suits” star shows her growing baby bump.
Photographer Misan Harriman, a friend of the couple, posted the family portrait on Instagram Monday, a day after the duke and duchess revealed to Oprah Winfrey they are expecting a baby girl. The couple had announced Duchess Meghan’s pregnancy on Valentine’s Day through a spokesperson, but kept the child’s sex under wraps.
“What wonderful news to celebrate on International Women’s Day!” Harriman wrote in the caption. “Congratulations my friends, and welcome to the #girldad club H”
In the black-and-white photo, Duchess Meghan dons a flowing dress and stands barefoot outside with her husband behind her. She holds their son Archie, who turns 2 in May, in her arms above her visible baby bump. The Duke of Sussex, also barefoot, wears a button-down shirt and pants.
In a new interview clip released Monday in “O, The Oprah Magazine,” Meghan opened up about the “expectation” that being a member of the royal family means losing out on the ability to have a private life.
“I think everyone has a basic right to privacy,” she said. “Basic. We’re not talking about anything that anybody else wouldn’t expect.”
She likened her situation to a colleague at work noticing a photo of someone’s child on their desk and then asking for the person’s phone to see “all the pictures” of their child.
