Maya Rudolph’s Vice President Kamala Harris wasn’t alone on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.
“SNL” alum Martin Short was on hand in Studio 8H to play the role of Harris’ husband and the first second gentleman of the United States, Doug Emhoff, for a sketch that found the couple hosting a Passover Seder for Washington figures.
“I’m just a shy entertainment lawyer!” Short said, shrugging his way onstage. Eventually Rudolph’s Harris got him to be a little more comfortable, and the music got a bit steamier.
“I just want you to know, and listen to me girl, I support you, every time you look around Dougie is going to be there for you honey … you got this baby!” Short’s Emhoff said.
The sketch also featured appearances from Aidy Bryant’s Ted Cruz, Kenan Thompson as Sen. Raphael Warnock, Cecily Strong as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Chole Fineman as Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff, who walked into the room like she was on a catwalk. “Momala is serving matzah while I’m serving lewks,” she said.
