Jimmy Kimmel says Donald Trump wanted to turn the Department of Justice into a “goon squad” following a report that claims the former president wanted to investigate the late-night comedy show.
On Tuesday, the late-night talk show host responded to a story from the Daily Beast that said Trump inquired with his advisers and lawyers in 2019 about what could be done to mitigate jokes of the then-president on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, “Saturday Night Live” and other late-night comedy shows.
“Can you imagine that? President snowflake asked to send the authorities in to stop us for making fun of him. Not only that, he wanted Guillermo to pay for the wall,” Kimmel told his audience.
“Little did I know, I am up here goofing on him and he’s asking the feds to do who the hell knows what.”

Kimmel went on to compare Trump and the DOJ to the Penguin and the goon squad in the old Batman television series.
“This is what Trump wanted, a goon squad. A bunch of tough guys to rough people up because he can’t take a joke,” Kimmel said.
Kimmel also teased that Alec Baldwin should be the one Trump wants. “He dresses up as you,” Kimmel said referring to Baldwin impersonating the former president in many “SNL” skits.
