STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The diner made its mark in America’s “golden age” when old school restaurants were trying to rekindle feelings of nostalgia for folks of all ages.

And to this day the USA still brims with vintage types with counters and booths, taking customers back to the 1950s and before, when retro diners offering food choices in a number of categories were all the rage.

Diners have been an integral part of the American landscape and are still hot spots where folks gather to share ideas and engage in conversation.
