Age 82, was granted her Angel wings on March 24, 2021after a brief illness, with her daughter by her bedside.
Born on August 28, 1938 to Clarence and Eleanor Boldt, she was raised on their Lemont, IL farm and attended Lemont High School. Joy and her beloved husband, Raymond A. Kure, were married for 57 years and resided in Lockport, IL, with their two children, cats, dogs and a pet peacock. Joy was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, and a former member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
With a profound love of nature, birds, and animals, Joy’s motto was “Save a place for wildlife.” A talented artist and quilter who created beautiful doll houses, mosaics and crafts, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and garage-saleing, repurposing items and adding whimsy to her log home, including a rock garden featuring 100 bowling balls. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, she enjoyed trips to Wrigley Field, hiking, camping, and exploring National parks in western USA, casino trips to Las Vegas, and visiting family and friends in southwest Florida. Blessed with life-long friendships, she loved her “Club Ladies” from Lemont High School, her wonderful caregivers from ABC Angels, and her nurse, Bonna Baticados.
