We will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. The deadline for June 3 issues of the Fort Bragg Advocate-News and The Mendocino Beacon will be as follows: Display Advertising, Wednesday, May 26 at 2 p.m. Obituaries, Friday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. Classified and Legal (No Change), Tuesday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. Editorial Copy, Thursday, May 27, at noon.
Memorial Day Ceremonies honor our Veterans
Last year we were unable to pay tribute to our fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coastguardsmen and Merchant Mariners who have fallen asleep after service and many having paid the ultimate price for defending the Rights and Freedoms, we all enjoy. This year we have that privilege.
On Monday, May 31, join the members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars at Zenith Hill Cemetery at 10 a.m., located on Lansing Street, top of the hill in Mendocino.
At 11 a.m., a second ceremony will be held at Rose Memorial located at Franklin and Spruce streets in Fort Bragg.
