Netflix announced during its Geeked Week livestream on Friday that the Netflix Original Series live-action adaptation of CAPCOM‘s Resident Evil survival horror game franchise has cast Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nunez. Reddick will play Albert Wesker, but the other cast members have not been specified.
Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead) is directing the series at Constantin Film, and Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) is writing the script. When Netflix first announced the series in August 2020, it posted an image of the script for the first episode, “Welcome to New Raccoon City,” of the eight-episode series.
Hughes and Dabb are executive producers with Marry Leah Sutton and Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben.
Netflix briefly listed a description for the the-unconfirmed series in February 2020. The Hollywood Reporter describes the newly confirmed story:
