When it comes to open world RPGs, many players have a tendency to hoard items at the cost of filling up their inventory space. The solution to this often comes in the form of purchaseable houses, where players are able to set up base and store items. The Elder Scrolls 6 has the opportunity to carry this mechanic over from Skyrim while simultaneously improving several features that fell flat in the eyes of many fans.
The base game comes with five homes, each located in a different hold across the province of Skyrim. The Dragonborn DLC later added an additional house that players could purchase on the island of Solstheim. Skyrim‘s Hearthfire expansion pack then introduced three areas of land to the game, which allowed players to build and customize their own manors as well as adopt children and hire stewards.
