Philip H. White
Boulder, CO — Philip H. White, formerly of Claremont and Grantham New Hampshire passed away on June 6th, 2022, in Boulder, Colorado. Philip was born to Alice May Fleming White and Henry Milford White in Long Ditton, County of Surrey, England on December 26, 1923. Philip was preceded in death by his wife Mildred and is survived by his daughter Pamela Schurman of Boulder, Colorado, daughter Diane Federman and her husband Edward, Grandson Benjamin, Granddaughter Rebecca and Great Granddaughter Ella of Sydney, Australia.
Philips early years were primarily in the Village of Much Marcle. He was a keen and talented student, proudly reminding the family over the years that he only ever missed one day of school due to an eye exam. Philip possessed a cheeky demeaner, which he carried with him from a young age until the end of his life, enjoying practical jokes and pranks.
Philip knew that he wanted to become an engineer at the young age of 16. He left his family life in Much Marcle to move to Birmingham where he enrolled to study engineering. It was in Birmingham, that Philip met his future wife Mildred at the local ice-skating rink. Philip loved recounting the story to friends and family, always repeating that he knew Mildred was the one the moment he met her. Philip and Mildred married in 1945 at the end of World War II, beginning the first of 71 years of marriage.
