In a new official still from Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Gwen Stacy meets Miles Morales’ parents for the very first time.
Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman (Hailee Steinfeld) meets Miles Morales/Spider-Man’s (Shameik Moore) parents for the first time in a new official still from Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Shared exclusively by USA Today, the image shows Miles introducing Gwen to his parents, Rio Morales (Luna Lauren Vélez) and Jefferson Davis (Brian Tyree Henry), on the roof of their apartment building. While Gwen seems slightly nervous, the group appears to be all smiles. Gwen finally meeting Miles’ folks feels like a natural development, seeing as how the sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been teasing a romance between the two superheroes.
Across the Spider-Verse is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters later this year on June 2. Of course, Moore, Steinfeld, Henry and Vélez aren’t the only members of Into the Spider-Verse‘s star-studded voice cast reprising their roles for the 2018 film’s anticipated sequel. Across the Spider-Verse also features the return of Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man and Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2022.
