Jessica Biel is opening up about life at home with Justin Timberlake and their two sons, Silas and Phineas.
The actress revealed during her Monday appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” how she’s coping with some recent parenting challenges, following Timberlake’s January announcement the couple had secretly welcomed their second son, Phineas.
One of those difficulties includes sleep training for Phineas, who “was doing so great and then all of his teeth started to come in.”
“Now nobody is sleeping again,” she said.
Biel added that sleep training, which involves allowing a baby to cry until drifting off to sleep, is “so hard” to watch as a mother.
“It’s so hard to let them cry for even a few minutes. And that’s sort of the sleep training we were doing, which is … you just let them go for a couple minutes then you go in and go ‘You’re good. You’re fine,’ ” she explained, adding that Phineas “did a beautiful job.”
Biel added that having two children was more difficult than she had anticipated, calling the experience a “wild, crazy, fun ride.”
“A very wise friend of mine said, ‘One is a lot, and two is a thousand,’ ” she joked. “That is exactly the way it feels. You’re like, man-on-man defense, one person’s here, the other person is over here.”
However, there’s a silver lining to the chaos: seeing her sons getting along.
“It is so cute to see these two together, because they both think the other one is hilarious,” she said.
