The Eagles will have a day off on Wednesday before a crucial Thursday night preseason matchup against the Patriots.
The second of three games in the reduced preseason schedule, Philadelphia will need to be down to 80 players by next Tuesday, August 24, when they’ll be in the midst of joint practices with the Jets.
The Eagles will need to reduce the roster down to 53 players by Tuesday, August 31.
With Philadelphia set to release or waive five more players by next Tuesday, here are 15 players who need strong showings against New England.

With guys like Josh Rosen and others available on the open market, the Eagles can always find a third quarterback and Mullens will need to improve on his preseason opener.

With Kerryon Johnson being placed on waivers, Holyfield will battle Jason Huntley for the final spot. Huntley offers more from a special teams standpoint, so it’ll be on Holyfield to break out against the physical Patriots defense.
