The 2021 NFL season is still a few weeks away but any time is always a good time to talk about football. The funny thing about making predictions both safe and bold about something as changing as professional football is that what can at one second seem very true can turn itself around from under our noses while on the other hand what might seem very hard to see happen might just end up taking shape and flight as the season progresses. While the season might again still be a good chunk of days away and NFL lines experts are starting to get the ball rolling as to what we can expect from the action to come, here are three bold but still realistic predictions that we can expect from the upcoming season.
Aaron Rodgers Will Play With Green Bay, At Least For One More Season
If the NFL was in any need of drama before the start of the 2021 season the whole Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay Packers deal has given everyone looking for just that, drama, everything they could want. One the one hand, yes, thinking about seeing Rodgers playing in another uniform that isn’t Green Bay’s is something that most if not all football fans could not fathom, but then again the same was said about guys like Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
On the other hand, if we’re going to be completely honest and transparent here, Green Bay hasn’t done much to surround Rodgers with many more skilled and talented players, especially on the offensive side of the ball, excusing guys like Davante Adams and Aaron Jones to help him maintain a Super-Bowl caliber team season after season. The Packers have made certain moves to try and lure Rodgers back to Green Bay, even offering him a 2-year extension that would make him the highest paid player in all of football, but Rodgers is still not ready to let go of his stance.
While all this sounds like it will come to the worst of cases, the reality continues to shape up more and more towards Rodgers finally returning for at least one more season to Green Bay. Why? Simple, with the beginning of the season getting closer and closer, both parties will have to come to a middle point where both can benefit. Green Bay will get their franchise QB for at least one more season, Rodgers will be able to play one more season in front of a fan base who adores him and if he decides to leave, be able to walk out the big door.
Dak Prescott Will Come Back and Shine, But Dallas Won’t Shine As Well
If there is one player in the NFL coming back from injury this season that has the biggest chip on his shoulder and will come out hungry for gold from the get go it’s Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. Before being sidelined with a season-ending ankle injury Prescott’s numbers were insane and on pace for him being able to almost throw for 6,000 yards if he kept the average. Now that he’s coming back and in full health, you know that Prescott will try and go for it all and it will be very hard to stop him. While he probably won’t be able to scratch the 5,500-yard mark or over, Prescott, who will have Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb all there as his receiver core will surely put on some stellar, even some might say MVP caliber numbers this upcoming season.
Now while all this sounds all sorts of amazing, which it does, Prescott might be in for a season that might see his numbers be one of the only true positives in Dallas. The Cowboys focused more on beefing up their defense this past draft and are looking like more of a future contender than an actual playoff now team. Now, though, Prescott and his hunger to come back and dominate might be the fuel Dallas needs to make their presence felt, but it seems unlikely that this will be the season they do so.
Buffalo Doubles Down Making It To The Super Bowl And An MVP Trophy for Josh Allen
The Bills are here, they are scary, they are scary good, they were one game away from making it to the Super Bowl last year and now they want to make it all the way there. While a few years ago or even just a couple of seasons ago thinking about talking about the Buffalo Bills as candidates for a spot in the Super Bowl might have been an opium dream, the reality of it all is different now as the Josh Allen led Bills are looking better than ever. The Bills have talent all over every single line in their team, they have a coaching staff that’s top class and a loyal fan base who is ready to finally start collecting on all the pain and hardship they’ve had to endure for years.
If the Bills were to make the Super Bowl, you know by fact that the league MVP trophy will most definitely be going to Buffalo’s QB Josh Allen. Allen’s transformation from being just another young QB in the league to becoming one of the most refreshing and ground shattering talents across the league has everyone talking about how Buffalo’s successes have come from Allen’s talents and leadership. He can throw the ball like Mahomes, has a temper and concentration like a seasoned proven winning veteran and is ready for any and all battles ahead, it would only be right for Allen to have his best season yet this upcoming season and for him to get the MVP trophy.
