A rematch just nine-plus months in the making.
The Eagles and Chiefs played an instant classic in February, with Kansas City clipping Philadelphia’s wings in Super Bowl 57. Now, the two contenders meet again in a primetime matchup on “Monday Night Football.”
While a decent of chunk of headlines surrounding the Chiefs in recent months has been a romance between No. 87 on the field and No. 1 on most iTunes charts, Kansas City has jumped out to a 7-2 record, but maybe a bit differently than they usually do. The defense has helped push the Chiefs out to a lead in the AFC West, while the offense has shown signs of life, but remains something of a work in progress.
On the other sideline, the Eagles have made a season of close calls. Of Philly’s eight wins, five have come by one score, making for an 8-1 record that may not be all that it seems. Still, the Eagles had a statement win of sorts in Week 9 vs. the Dallas Cowboys, downing their division rival and proving they’re still soaring above the rest in the NFC.
Call it the Swiftie Bowl. USA TODAY Sports will provide updates for the Week 11 Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl 57 rematch on “Monday Night Football”:
