The United States Women’s National Team hosts Uzbekistan for the first of two international friendly soccer match at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, April 9 (4/9/2022).
The match will be broadcast on FOX at 5:30 p.m. ET and can be streamed on fuboTV, DirecTV Stream and other live TV services.
The US Women started off the year strong, with an undefeated performance in the SheBelieves Cup, culminating in a 5-0 clobbering of 2nd place Iceland. The USWNT has not played an international friendly since last year when they went abroad to play Australia.
Friendlies are played to help international teams prepare for the upcoming 2023 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
“We have four games left before World Cup and Olympic qualifying,” head coach Vlatko Andonovski said in a statement. “It’s up to the players and staff to maximize every minute we get together on the field and in the meeting room.”
