Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that Elden Ring has surpassed 12 million units sold worldwide; taking into account both physical and digital distribution on all platforms. FromSoftware’s acclaimed title, for many the consummation of the creative Hidetaka Miyazaki, ratifies with this its status as a mainstream video game and seals its name in the gaming history not only for its scores, but also for its commercial success.
Available since last February 25, Elden Ring has spent its first weeks of release above expectations. Bandai Namco told its investors last November that they expected to sell 4 million units of the game by the end of the current fiscal quarter, on March 31, 2022. That forecast has been tripled in less than three weeks (data up to March 14). Of the total amount, one million units correspond to the Japanese market.
