Enrollment for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) will end on February 8, 2024, after providing help to millions of Americans in the tough economic questions posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, war in Ukraine and war in Gaza.
Customers must be approved and enrolled with a service provider by no later than 23:59 ET on February 7 to receive the ACP aid.
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a federal initiative providing eligible households with up to a $30 monthly discount for internet service and up to $75 for those on qualifying Tribal lands.
Additionally, eligible households can receive a one-time discount of up to $100 for purchasing a laptop, desktop, or tablet, with a contribution of $10 to $50 from the household.
Since its launch in December 2021, the ACP has assisted over 22 million eligible households in accessing online services for education, career development, telehealth, and more, but due to the program’s widespread success, the allocated $14.2 billion funds are exhausted, requiring additional funding or cutbacks.
The government chose the latter, hence the enrollment deadline, before they end the program in April 2024 for good to save the money for other areas of the economy.
