A commercial property firm has signed on to hunt tenants for the biggest real estate development project in Southwest Dallas.
Transwestern Real Estate Services has been hired to round up medical and office tenants for the $200 million redevelopment of the former Redbird mall at Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 67.
Developers Peter Brodsky and Terrance Maiden have knocked down much of the old 94-acre shopping center and are replacing it with the Reimagine Redbird mixed-use project, which includes retail, residential and office space.
Health care providers Parkland Hospital, UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health have announced plans for medical facilities at Redbird.
And other space is being pitched to medical and general space users.
An Atlanta-based call center operator, Chime Solutions, plans to have more than 1,000 workers in 80,000 square feet of offices at the development.
“We are excited for the opportunity to bring additional health care and office tenants to this project,” said Transwestern’s Chris Lipscomb, who is part of the team leasing the offices. “Our research shows that southern Dallas is underserved in relation to certain medical specialties, such as cardiovascular, dermatology and pulmonology.
“The demand for specialized health care offerings coupled with the area’s booming residential population and proximity to nearby amenities will be attractive to office and health care tenants.”
